PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - An investigation is underway into the death of a Floyd County inmate.
The Floyd County Times reports Joey L. Griffith was found unresponsive in his cell.
He was being held in jail on a probation violation.
In May of last year he was accused of giving an officer a false name and had various traffic offenses.
Jailer Roger Webb told the newspaper that Griffith was hospitalized days before his death.
His body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
