Investigation leads to discovery of several stolen trailers

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Police in Knox County say an investigation into one crime led them to find several stolen trailers.

The Barbourville Police Department arrested Sean Messer and Christopher Mills on unrelated charges.

Police say they believe the two are also behind a string of trailer thefts in the city.

Trailers were stolen from Knox County Schools, a pawn shop, and even a church.

“They had actually taken the trailers and sold and traded them for various items,” Officer Steve Owens said.

Police say they recovered all the trailers and returned them to the owners.

The suspects are not charged with the thefts yet but are still in jail on the unrelated charges.
