PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - One woman accused of stealing meat worth hundreds of dollars in the Big Sandy region is now behind bars.
Police tell us they arrested Jessica Stumbo.
They are still looking for the other woman wanted in the case, Lavern Mullins.
Grocery shopping, without paying. Police say a pair of thieves hit multiple Food City stores in a matter of weeks. The item they were looking for ... meat.
Sheriff's deputies in Johnson County need your help finding these women. They tell us the duo stole meat worth hundreds of dollars throughout the Big Sandy Region.
The two women seen in footage were first seen in the Prestonsburg Food City on July 15th.
Food City officials say, "The video shows these persons concealing large quantities of meat and other merchandise in their purses."
Loss prevention managers say this is not the only time or place a heist like this was caught on tape, "The video shows these persons concealing large quantities of meat and other merchandise in their purses."
The most recent happening Saturday in Paintsville, Food City alerted local officials .. causing the Johnson County Sheriff's office to launch an investigation.
Sheriff Dwayne Price, "It appears they are well organized, hitting all three counties."
Price says the surveillance footage from the stores is excellent quality and believes it will help with the investigation.
"We will charge these two individuals if we can find them. They are taking meat products, which can get rather expensive. It is like anything else if Food City loses a lot of product through shoplifting...we all pay for it in the long run," says Price.
