FLOYD CO., Ky (WYMT) - Jenny Wiley State Resort Park celebrated its 50th anniversary Friday.
The May Lodge at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park was dedicated 50 years ago by Governor Combs.
Since then the park has grown to include an outdoor theater, hiking trails, a golf course, and a marina.
"This is a very special place to all of us in tourism, in the parks system. It's a wonderful park, it's contributed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of economic impact to eastern Kentucky," said Secretary for Tourism Arts and Heritage Marcheta Sparrow.
Employees and several state officials attended the ceremony Friday morning, followed by a cake reception.
