Jobless rates fall in 99 counties in October

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Jobless rates have fallen in 99 Kentucky
counties as of October, more good news for a still ailing state
economy.
The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training released the
latest figures on Wednesday, showing unemployment rates had
increased in 20 other counties.
Woodford County had the lowest rate in the state at 6.4 percent,
followed by Fayette and Ohio counties at 7 percent, Caldwell County
at 7.3 percent, and Oldham and Owen counties at 7.4 percent.
Jackson County had the state's highest unemployment rate at 15.8
percent, followed by Fulton County at 15.6 percent, Meade County at
14.8 percent, Magoffin County at 14.5 percent, and McCreary County
at 14 percent.
