Judge executive files response to lawsuit

Posted: Thu 11:10 PM, Feb 28, 2013

HINDMAN, Ky. (WYMT) - Knott County Judge Executive Randy Thompson has filed a response to a lawsuit seeking to remove him from office.

In the response, Thompson's attorney says the court has no alternative other than dismiss the lawsuit due to the commonwealth's lack of constitutional and statutory authority.

They request an immediate dismissal of the lawsuit and to have a jury trial on the allegations in it.

Thompson is in prison after being convicted in a vote buying case.
