The jury got the case at 12:30pm for the murder trial of Samuel Collier in Letcher County.

At around 7pm they came back with their verdict.

Collier was convicted of 2nd degree manslaughter.

Friday morning the judge announced that the prosecution had rested their case and that the defense would not call any witnesses.

The jury did come back to the courtroom sometime after 3 to hear the 911 call and Collier’s interview with police from the night of the shooting.

The jury then went back into deliberation.
