Jury finds man guilty of murder

A jury finds a man guilty of a Martin County murder.

The jury convicted Jimmy Cornette Junior Wednesday afternoon of killing Patrick Calvin Blackburn back in 2002.

Blackburn's car was found over a hill on Trace Fork with his body in the back seat.

Police say he was beaten and his car was staged to look like an accident.

Two other men, David Jude and Joey Stepp, accepted a plea deal last week.

Cornette will be sentenced July 21st.

The jury recommended life in prison.
