Jury to get overview of case against Jackson doc

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A jury in Los Angeles will hear opening statements and possibly testimony today in the trial of the doctor who was with Michael Jackson on the day he died.
Dr. Conrad Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter after allegedly giving Jackson a powerful sedative. Defense attorneys say Jackson somehow gave himself the fatal dose.
Prosecutors plan to call the superstar's friend and choreographer, Kenny Ortega, as their first witness in the case.
The defense says Murray was Jackson's friend, a capable protector of the singer's health.
