FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A House floor vote is possible Wednesday on the state budget.
House Appropriations and Revenue Committee Chairman Rick Rand said the vote will be held Wednesday afternoon unless plans change abruptly.
The monthly income of some 200,000 retirees who had been slated to receive 1.5 percent increases in each of the next two years would remain the same under the proposed $19.5 billion biennial budget. House lawmakers erased meager cost-of-living increases from the budget in a move that could save some $400 million over 25 years.
That money would be applied to a structural imbalance in the state's pension fund.
