PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The Kentucky Elk and Hunting Show is going on this weekend at Jenny Wiley State Park.
The event is hosted by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Folks can attend seminars and check out several vendors as well as go on an elk tour.
Organizers say it is a celebration of the elk hunt and they invited all hunters that were drawn in the state lottery this year. This brings folks from both throughout the state as well as outside of Kentucky.
Bill Carman says, "10% of the elk hunters were non-resident. 1,000 tags were drawn this year, so 100 were from out of state. Many of them have come to this from Georgia, Indiana, and other states."
There will be an outdoor church service at eight Sunday morning. The event runs until noon.
