MT. STERLING, Ky (WKYT) - Like so many of us the members of Eastland First Church of God are doing their best to work through the deaths of so many innocents.
"There's no understanding, there's no rhyme or reason to what's happened, we just have to draw on our strength in God that he's got a plan for us," said youth pastor Barry Jewell.
Like so many churches across the country the members came together Saturday night to support each other and to pray for the victims and their families.
"To the people in Connecticut, to know that we feel your grief and we lift you up tonight and there's a better day coming," Jewell said.
The tragedy had an impact on every person who showed up. For one woman, it made her realize just how precious the time she spends with her grandchildren is.
"Every day we should leave with love in our heart for them and never leave mad at them because we don't know if we'll see them again or not," said Rosemary Lee.
