Kentucky organ donor members joined together on Thursday with the University of Pikeville to celebrate "Donate Life Night."
Officials with the program say there are a huge number of people currently awaiting a transplant.
Most people say personal experiences led them to get involved with trying to help.
"I got involved because it saved my life and I wanted to get spread the word about organ donation." Don Willis, who received a kidney transplant said.
