For the 20th year in a row, the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 29 in Pikeville is spreading holiday cheer to the kids who need it most. The group sponsored their annual shopping event at Walmart and raised enough money for more than 300 kids to go shopping and make sure they get something for the holidays.

The sights and sounds of happy children and parents filled the aisles of Walmart. Each child was given 50 dollars to spend on anything in the store.

"It's really hard to buy presents no matter how much money you make or do or don't have so anything helps. Any little bit helps," said Brandi Brown, who was at the store shopping with her kids

Members of the F.O.P shopped with parents and kids.

"It helps them see law enforcement in a positive light not somebody they have to be afraid of," said Terry Thompson, the President of Lodge 29.

And spent more time in some aisles than they did others. Both the kids and their parents seemed extremely grateful for the opportunity. Each child who was there was invited by the family resource center at their school.
