A Knott County student has received some national recognition.

Fallon Slone was invited to the National Forensics Competition to represent Hindman Elementary's junior forensics league.

After winning on the state level, Fallon and her family traveled to Indiana to compete in the story telling category.

Out of hundreds of students nationwide, she took home the title and trophy.

"I was very excited I was glad that I was going to get to take competing in forensics to a higher level than just state." Slone said.

Fallon says she plans on joining the forensics team as a freshman at Knott County Central.
