CORBIN, Ky. (AP) - A southeastern volunteer fire department is
back in compliance with state regulations.
The East Knox Volunteer Fire Department in Flat Lick was deemed
out of compliance around the first of the year after five
volunteers resigned from their positions.
Fire Chief Bobby Valentine said the force now has 20 firefighters and over half are certified.
To be in compliance with the state fire commission, a fire
department must have at least 12 firefighters and a chief and at
least half need certification.
