Ky House Committee approves cybersecurity bill

Frankfort, Kentucky - A Kentucky House Committee approved a bill requiring government agencies to notify people when their personal information is stolen from government computers.

The measure also seeks to strengthen cybersecurity protections.

The legislation cleared the House State government committee on Thursday and appears to be on a fast track with 74 out of 100 chamber members co-sponsoring the bill.

Kentucky is among four states without such cybersecurity protections.
