Flooding is a major concern today across Eastern Kentucky as rivers continue to rise after the heavy rain and snow melt of the last few days. Now as the rain has transitioned to sleet and snow roads will become treacherous and ice covered. Flood Warnings and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for most of the day. Keep it locked to WYMT for updates.
PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - Motorists in Kentucky will notice a change next year when they go to register their vehicles.
The state plans to join 38 others using a "plate-to-customer" format instead of the current "plate-to-vehicle." Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokeswoman Lisa Tolliver told The Paducah Sun that the change is meant to make the process easier for customers.
She says the state is still in the final stages of testing the new system but hopes to roll it out next January 1.
