We may have had some light snow during the weekend, but overall old man winter has been fairly nice to us this season.

This mild winter has only brought around 6” of snow, while this time last year we had already received 36”.

Local road department officials say the lack of snow is helping them financially.

"I think we have had two hundred ton of salt ordered and we have used fifteen ton this year so we are going to have a whole lot left over,” Chester Smith said.

Road crews also say the warmer weather has allowed them to put in culverts and work on roads, something they rarely get a chance to do during the winter.
