Laurel man victim of violent home invasion

The crime happened Saturday afternoon on Robinson Rd.

Police say the homeowner heard a knock on the door, but when he went to open the door, what followed was a violent and frightening encounter.

“When he opened the door, this guy grabs him by the throat, shoves him to the floor, grabs his wallet and watch and flees the scene,” said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Dept.

Police say it was completely random, and the victim, Joshua Robinson, didn’t know the intruder who if caught will face some serious charges.

“We have a robbery second degree case…and a burglary first degree case underway,” said Acciardo.

The victim told 27 NEWSFIRST that the intruder also asked him if he had any pills or if he knew who had any pills. Police say they have a suspect and are following some leads.
