After being on the run for 11 days, Mark Turner decided to turn himself in late this afternoon.

Turner escaped while on work release from the Laurel County Correctional Facility in London last Tuesday.

28-year-old Mark Turner turned himself in after being on the run for 11 days.

"Today around noon, we were contacted by Mr. Turner and his mother from their residence. And I went and picked him up," said Jamie Mosley, Laurel County Correctional Facility Jailer.

When police arrived, Turner left his mother's home in Manchester without any incident.

"We allowed him to say his goodbyes to the family, and he really came back with no issue whatsoever," said Mosley.

Officials say they pushed the family to encourage Turner to stop running.

Turner says he is tired of running and should not have ran in the first place.

"I think I learned my lesson this time, boys. I gotta grow up," said Turner.

Officials say they searched day and night hoping Turner would come forward.

"He realized after our relentless pursuit and living in the woods and different locations over the past week and a half that he indeed had made a tremendous mistake," said Mosley.

Turner is back behind bars at the Laurel County Correctional Facility.

He now faces charges of escape along with his previous drug charges.

Turner and the other escapee, Jimmy Martin, who was caught last weekend will not have work release.
