Laurel County proposes ban on synthetic marijuana

An eastern kentucky community is trying to prevent what law enforcement is calling a *new* drug.
It's legal and easy to buy, but the Laurel County Sheriff wants to put a stop to the sale and use of Synthetic Marijuana.
The Sheriff is planning to present a county wide ordinance to the Fiscal Court to make possessing any kind of herbal incense or synthetic marijuana a misdemeanor.
Sheriff John Root says the substance is being sold at businesses countywide and mimic the effects of many illegal drugs.
He says they pose a health risk. In one case, a child had to be taken to the hospital.
