From our sister station WSAZ:
Workers at the Lawrence County Courthouse are getting an extended holiday break of sorts.
The courthouse in Louisa suffered extensive water damage after a pipe broke in the ceiling on the second floor early Monday morning.
The County Clerk Chris Jobe says at least 3 to 5 hundred gallons of water poured down from the pipe onto the floor, down the stairs, and flowed underneath the front doors.
He says the bulk of the damage was to the ceilings and floors in the Property Valuation Office and the County Clerk's Office.
The courthouse is expected to be closed the rest of the week.
