Rounds of heavy rain will begin to move into the area later tonight, leading to the increased potential for flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area from now through Thursday and a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect tomorrow. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will drop and transition our rain to sleet and eventually to snow. Most of the area could see several inches of snow and sleet before it's all said and done. A lawsuit between one eastern Kentucky county and city is heating up.
The Floyd County Times reports county officials answered a recent lawsuit filed by city of Martin officials.
The lawsuit seeks unpaid fees they say are associated with the treatment of water from the county's landfill at Garth Hollow.
However, county officials answered by saying quote "The city is believed to be one of, if not the largest, polluter of waterways in the history of Floyd County."
