A lawsuit between one eastern Kentucky county and city is heating up.

The Floyd County Times reports county officials answered a recent lawsuit filed by city of Martin officials.

The lawsuit seeks unpaid fees they say are associated with the treatment of water from the county's landfill at Garth Hollow.

However, county officials answered by saying quote "The city is believed to be one of, if not the largest, polluter of waterways in the history of Floyd County."
