Two Perry County residents have filed a lawsuit against Perry County Schools superintendent John Paul Amis and the board of education.
The Hazard Herald reports Eddie Campbell and Lloyd Engle claim Amis is working without a valid contract and that several contract extensions approved by the board were in violation of state law.
Amis's contract was found to be valid by a recent opinion of the Kentucky Office of Education Accountability and the board's newly hired attorney.
