Lawsuit is going to trial

A federal lawsuit filed against the city of Williamsburg's police department is expected to go to trial Monday.

Kimberly Perkins of Jellico, Tennessee alleges malicious physical abuse and torture by a Williamsburg Police Officer and that the city, including the mayor and police chief, did nothing to prevent the incident.

The lawsuit stems from an incident Perkins says happened in May of 2008.
