Layoffs coming to one Eastern Kentucky health department

HARLAN, Ky. (WYMT/Harlan Daily Enterprise) - A lack of funding will leave more than one dozen people looking for a job soon.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports the Cumberland Valley District Health Department, which serves Harlan, Rockcastle, Clay and Jackson County will lay off 14 people later this month.

The interim director of the department told the paper as part of the layoffs, environmental and food safety services will be reduced in the four counties.
