The League of Conservation Voters is planning to launch a TV ad blasting U.S. Senator Rand Paul for trying to block the Environmental Protection Agency from implementing tougher standards on power plants.

Paul says he's trying to protect Kentucky jobs.

“We have some environmental extremists, the kind of people that chain themselves to power plants, that are coming into Kentucky and trying to tell us about our jobs and our industry and all I'm saying is you can have both. You can have clean air and clean water and you can have jobs and I think we need to be careful not to make the regulations so onerous that we lose jobs,” Senator Paul said.

The ad is scheduled to begin airing on Lexington TV stations Friday.

Do you think the Federal Government should recognize that marijuana and hemp are different varieties of the same plant?
