We are only 17 days away from Spring, and people in Letcher County have mixed feelings. One man said he prefers the snow.

"Well actually i like this weather. ... I don't look forward to the hot, sweaty summer days of late July and August, when the humidity is high and you're just drenched with sweat all day long. I don't care for that," said Joe Shelton, an air and heat contractor.

The heaviest snowfall in Letcher County was on Pine Mountain. One man said he's ready for the Spring.

"The days are longer. You don't have to sit in the house all cooped up all the time, so it's just a big change. If it was warm today I would be up on the mountain up on my side by side, just enjoying the weather," said Chris Caudill, the maintenance supervisor for City of Whitesburg Utilities.

Natasha Shephard, a mother of two, said slick roads are not the only reason she dislikes the cold weather.

"It's awful. Especially for the kids. My youngin has been sick for a month now because of it. This weather is just awful," Shephard said.

Sheila Bates says she looks forward to her kids being able to play outside.

"Going outside, playing with our kids. Letting them have fun. Because this cold weather kind of keeps them sick," Bates said.

Spring cannot come soon enough for some.
