It has been more than two weeks since Letcher County inmate Stevie Wynn assaulted a jail transport officer and escaped on his way back from a Perry County court appearance.

"He managed to get through the screen, overpower him and put him out of the vehicle and take custody and control of the vehicle and flee from there." says Don McCall, Letcher County Jailer.

Since then police have been on the lookout for the missing inmate, who they believe could be armed and dangerous.

"After the action that he took the day that he escaped we have to consider the fact that he'll be desperate to stay on the run." adds McCall.

Officials believe Wynn could still be in the area and may be receiving shelter from others.

"Anyone who aids him or harbors him, takes him in or gives him a ride somewhere, can be charged with a felony." says Kentucky State Police Detective, Gary Sandlin.

That's why anyone with information on Stevie Wynn's whereabouts is encouraged to contact Kentucky State Police or local authorities.
