Lexington Couple stranded in NYC

Posted: Mon 11:47 PM, Oct 29, 2012

Rebecca Kent of Lexington and her husband are staying in Times Square. They arrived last week on business and were supposed to fly back home today.

"They Cancelled all the flights," Kent expliained by phone. "It happened so quickly, we couldn't get through to Delta. It was a six hour wait just to talk to someone."

Kent says supplies in the city are scare and so are the hotel rooms. After some folks in the five buroughs were evacuacuated, her hotel room was nearly a hundred bucks more a night! With Sandy bearing down now, she says she's just hoping the storm passes fast so she can get home.

"I hope by Halloween so I can be with my kids. We're booked on a flight tomorrow evening, I'm not really thinking that's going to happen."

Two flights from Lexington's Blue Grass Airport have been cancelled. Both those flights were to Washington, DC.
