Little league baseball burglary

LETCHER Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Little league baseball players in Letcher County are missing brand new bats, equipment bags and gloves.

The little league president says it is going to be hard to replace everything they lost.

When Crystal Caudill opened their storage room on Thursday she says something was not right.

"I showed up to start the stuff in the concession and noticed the windows were open and broken," said Caudill.

Caudill says baseball bats, equipment bags, boxes of gloves and food were gone.

Windows above the concession stand are made of wood. Coaches say whoever did this climbed a picnic table and broke in.

"We had all new equipment. They didn't take all the old stuff. They just wanted the new stuff," said Caudill.

Caudill says their little league was able to purchase the new items from concession stand sales.

'It's going to be hard to replace all that we lost," said Caudill.

Kentucky State Police do not have a suspect, but say whoever did this is facing one to five years in jail.

Caudill is offering a $300 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
