Local option elections come with hefty price

Counties are paying hefty prices for special local option elections.

The Times Tribune reports the Tri-County area of Whitley, Knox, and Laurel Counties have spent nearly $31,000 combined for alcohol votes.

Williamsburg's vote cost nearly six thousand dollars alone.

In those elections, both Barbourville and London rejected packaged alcohol sales while Corbin approved them and Williamsburg voters narrowly approved restaurant sales.
