Local school district saves money while adding new positions

A local school district has found a way to save money on their budget while creating several new positions.

The Middlesboro Daily reports during Bell County school board meeting last Thursday night officials created new positions by getting rid of old ones.

For 5 of the positions that were eliminated, 5 more were created with salary increases.

By the end of the meeting, the board had saved around $26,000 in district positions.
