Logan County, West Virginia woman killed in crash

MCCONNELL, W.Va. (AP) - State police are investigating the death of a Logan County woman who was hit by a passing vehicle as she was trying to get help.

State police tell media outlets that 61-year-old Kathy Gibson of Nibert was traveling with two other women when their car ran out of gas on State Route 10 in McConnell.

Gibson walked onto the road and tried to flag passing vehicles down. After she got help, another vehicle hit her as she was returning to the car.

The accident happened Wednesday morning.
