WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

Long-time car dealership closes

A long-time car dealership closes its doors in Clay County.

The Manchester Enterprise reports Cornett Chevrolet closed last week, leaving 29 people without a job.

The manager blamed the poor economy and says the closing took most of the employees by complete surprise.

The paper says a dealership in Irvine and used car lot in Leslie County, owned by Hiram Cornett, also closed.
