Long time Martin County emergency dies after accident at his home

A Martin County man who dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community has died in an accident at his home.

Bruce Endicott was the official search and rescue coordinator for the county, as well as a long time member of the Martin County Rescue Squad.

Dispatchers say Endicott slipped off a ladder while working on the roof of his home Saturday evening.

A Life-Flight helicopter rushed him to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Martin County 911 Coordinator K.C. Fitch tells us he speaks for the whole county when he says they have lost a brother.
