Longtime former circuit court clerk dies at 90

HYDEN, Ky. (WYMT) - A long-time former circuit court clerk in Leslie County has died.

Effie Couch died Thursday.

Family members tell us she was the circuit court clerk for 42 years and when she retired, she was considered the longest serving elected official in state history.

Her visitation will be Saturday at six at the Stinnett Church of Christ.

The funeral will be Sunday at two, also at the church.

Effie Couch was 90 years old.
