Longtime Evarts mayor dies at 64

City officials tell Mountain News Evarts Mayor Burl Fee died Tuesday night at his home.

Fee had served as mayor for the Harlan County community for 13 years.

We're told he had suffered health problems recently, but his cause of death is not known at this time.

Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. in the chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel.

Mayor Fee was 64.
