Longtime Harlan Co. Clerk dies

Longtime Harlan County Clerk Wanda Clem has died.

Ms. Clem began working in the Harlan County Clerk's office as deputy in 1968 under then clerk Gene Cornett.

She was elected Harlan County Clerk in November 1-98 and took office in January 1999.

Clem served in that position until her passing this morning.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 9th from 4-8 p.m. at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

There will also be visitation at 11 a.m. Monday, October 10th at Friendship Baptist Church of Cawood.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Friendship Baptist Church.
