Lopsided loss sparks sportsmanship debate

A lopsided middle school basketball loss in eastern Kentucky has sparked debate over sportsmanship.

Pikeville Independent beat Kimper Middle 100 to 2. While the game was played nearly three weeks ago, home video posted this week has led the likes of NBC Sports and Forbes to pick up the story.

Some people maintain the game should have ended before the big blowout, saying it was an embarrassment to the kids

Posted online Monday, the video truly has gone viral.

There were rumors the school superintendent would cancel the rest of Pikeville Independent's season because of poor sportsmanship, but there’s no truth to that.

Pikeville and Kimper were set to play each other again in later this month, but that game has been canceled.
