Low voter turnout predicted

As the campaigning comes to an end, state officials are predicting a low voter turnout rate.

After reviewing past election turnout, Secretary of State Elaine Walker believes voter turnout will be between 25% and 28% and local officials say, these estimates are accurate.

"We're down probably fifty percent in the mail in's and the absentee where you can vote in the courthouse we're down eighty percent,” Perry County Clerk Haven King said.

The Attorney General’s Office wants to remind voters that the vote fraud hot line will be open next Tuesday from 6am to 7pm.

If you spot any irregularities at the polls, you should call 1-800-328-8683.
