Brooklyhn Woods has been singing since the first grade. Now, this 19-year old country music singer has released her first single and music video.
She still remembers how her love for music began at an elementary school christmas play that she was randomly selected to sing in by her teacher.
"I remember it like it was yesterday. I was a nervous wreck. I stared at the air conditioner vents the entire time," Woods said.
Now the stage is bigger. Woods says that even though the stage is bigger, she has not forgotten her Southeastern Kentucky roots.
"There ain't nothing like a southern belle you can't beat them, we're just genuine and we're real," said Woods.
Her favorite singers include legends Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn and she says that she enjoys singing ballads the most.
"I like country music because we talk about real stuff that really happens. and we don't sugarcoat it. life's not all rainbows and daffodils. It's not. I like singing about stuff that's real," Woods said.
Woods says she hopes to tour around the world one day. She has already written 15 songs and is working on her first album.
