MSU softball players step up to help boy beat world record

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A Christmas drive is underway to help a 9-year-old eastern Kentucky boy, battling cystic fibrosis, break a world record.

The Morehead State University softball team spent Friday afternoon collecting Christmas cards for Dalton Dingus.

Dingus, who lives in Salyersville, is battling stage four cystic fibrosis. He is trying to beat the Guiness Book of World Records for receiving the most Christmas cards.

As of Friday afternoon, Dalton has 23,000 cards. The record is 35,000. To help, cards can be sent directly to Dalton at HC 62 Box 1249, Salyersville, Ky., 41465.
