WYMT Severe Weather Alert

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of Southeastern Kentucky until 10pm tonight. The primary threats from this system will be strong winds and large hail. Isolated tornadic activity certainly can't be ruled out of the equation.

Magoffin County man found guilty of masterminding drug trafficking network

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A federal grand jury says a Magoffin County man is guilty of masterminding a multi-million dollar drug trafficking network.

Howard Back was indicted in May by a federal grand jury for allegedly conspiring with others to distribute OxyCodone between December 2009 and February 2012.

Four other people involved in the conspiracy previously pleaded guilty in the case and testified against back.

Back is awaiting sentencing at the Pike County Detention Center.
