Students in Magoffin County may have to wait another week before they can head back to school.
The school district has tentatively set a March 19th date for students to return. However, they warn, there will be some changes. At this time, the superintendent says the middle school will have to merge with the high school. "We think we can accommodate them at this point. It's not going to be perfect but we can get students back in session and start providing instruction," explains Magoffin County Superintendent Joe Hunley. "We are still looking for a temporary school for the elementary school students. Right now, it does not look like they will be going back to school at the same time as the other students. We are looking into doing an alternative schedule for those students."
