Officials investigating fire in downtown Manchester

We are following a developing story in Clay County.

We were first on the scene of what officials are calling a suspicious fire that tore through part of downtown Manchester.

The blaze was so intense, eight fire departments from Clay and surrounding counties were called to help battle the flames.

The building was used as a storage facility for a local hardware store.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames.

There are no reported injuries.

We are told the building is a loss and officials are investigating.

"We'll be assessing damage, the fire marshall's office, the kentucky state police and the manchester city police will be investigating it. We are considering this a suspicious blaze right now." Manchester Fire Chief Jamey Mills said.

Part of downtown Manchester will remain closed while road crews work to clear the street of ice and debris.
