Man accused of killing pregnant jogger back in court

Russell County, Ky. (WKYT) - A man accused of murdering a pregnant jogger headed back to court on Tuesday.

Christopher Allman is charged with murder, fetal homicide and kidnapping.

Police say he killed Sarah Hart while she was out for a jog in Russell County back in June.

During Tuesday's hearing, Allman's attorney requested a continuance to allow more time for discovery evidence.

The judge granted the request.

He said it was needed because this is a death penalty case.

Allman's next hearing is set for October 23.

The prosecutor anticipates a trial in the case will last 3 weeks.

No date for a trial has been set.
