BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The search is on for suspects who allegedly held a Knox County man and woman at knifepoint and robbed them.
It happened early Sunday morning at a home on Bennett Branch Road, just off of Highway 25E.
The victims, a brother and sister, say they were scared for their lives!
Linda Gray says a loud noise of the door front breaking down woke up her and her brother around 5:15 Sunday morning.
"I did not even have time to get up out of the bed. There was a boy standing over top of me and he was hollering, 'give me your pills, give me your pills,'" Gray said.
She says the man had a knife on her and another man had a knife on her brother in another room.
"They told us to sit still, they were going to kill us. The boy kept telling me he was going to slit my throat," Gray said.
Gray, who is ill, says the two men also yanked her phone out of the wall so they could not call for help.
"I was terrified. I thought I was dead," she said.
Gray says the robbers left after getting her medicine. She went to a neighbor's home to call police.
Sheriff's Deputies believe the home was targeted.
"Just the prescription medication, a key indicator. It appears they had a plan, seemed to be orchestrated perfectly from beginning to end," said Deputy Claude Hudson.
Investigators are following leads. They are asking the public for help to find the suspects.
"We're hoping the public, maybe somebody leaving for work or something who didn't know the crime occurred, maybe see this and put us on a strong lead to bring justice to the victims," said Deputy Hudson.
Gray does not think her life will ever be the same.
"I am too scared to even go to sleep at night," she said.
Anyone with information or who thinks they saw something suspicious in the Bennett Branch area should call the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
