It's a crime you don't hear about too often. But someone in Anderson County was arrested for, Hunting under the influence.
"It's kind of a scary situation, you're fairly close and someone shoots at you with a 12 guage shotgun," says Danny Crouch, the owner of the property where the alleged incident happened.
Crouch says one man was drinking beer and got upset after another hunter shot at a dove that he wanted.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife were called out to the field in Lawrenceburg. Officers arrested David Gaines for Hunting under the influence and second degree wanton endangerment.
Crouch says that Gaines drew a gun on another hunter and fired at him.
We tried to let Gaines tell his side of the story, but he declined to make any comment.
Crouch says the person, who Gaines shot at is not just any hunter, "Rex is pretty upset. You know he's my neighbor. He's been a Fish and Wildlife officer for about 20 years, so he was upset."
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
"He was pretty close. He was close enough that he got peppered pretty good," adds Crouch.
Crouch says that this is the only hunting under the influence that has happened on his property.
Alcohol is prohibited on public dove fields.
